SUMMARY:Project Common Ground (Greek)
DESCRIPTION:In alignment with the European theme\, “Europe is Stronger Together: Prioritise Mental Health in a Changing Europe\,” our Model School is to launch “Project: Common Ground”. This initiative recognizes that while the social and digital landscapes of Europe evolve\, our shared need for mental resilience remains the universal foundation upon which we build our future\, especially in Greece where migration has been under the spotlight for a long time. \nThe programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic excellence and emotional well-being through a multi-dimensional approach: \nPsychoeducation & Seminars: Multidisciplinary sessions offered by the school psychologist and health visitor\, providing students with the guidance and practical tools. \nTackling Stereotypes: Interactive workshops aimed at dismantling stigma and fostering a school culture rooted in empathy and inclusion. \nArt Exhibition: A creative showcase where students “visualize the invisible\,” using artistic expression to communicate their inner worlds and shared experiences. \nSocial Media Campaign: A digital movement designed for authenticity and positive mental health advocacy. \nBy establishing this “Common Ground\,” we aim to demonstrate that vulnerability and difference is not a weakness\, but a catalyst for collective strength. We are moving beyond the classroom to build a community where every student feels seen\, heard\, and supported\, and differences are celebrated. \nSocial Media Links \n\n– https://projectcommonground.wordpress.com/\n– www.instagram.com/project.common.ground.greece/\n– www.linkedin.com/company/project-common-ground/\n\n  \n

SUMMARY:MINDCARE Unmuted - Breaking the Silence on Mental Health in Romania (Romanian)
DESCRIPTION:MINDCARE Unmuted is a week-long programme by MINDCARE FOR ALL\, built around our report “Radiography of Mental Health in Romania” (mindcareforall.com/en/blog/the-radiography-of-mental-health-in-romania/) — an evidence-based analysis drawing on Eurobarometer 530 data (European Commission\, 2023). The report examines the state of mental health across demographic groups\, access to psychological and psychiatric services\, social stigma\, and policy recommendations grounded in scientific data. Key findings reveal a significant treatment gap: 42% of Romanians reported mental health difficulties in the past years\, yet over 60% did not seek professional support\, with high costs\, fear of judgment\, and distrust in services as the primary barriers. In response\, MINDCARE FOR ALL proposes a five-pillar action model covering national strategy\, governance\, anti-stigma action\, prevention\, and access to services. All events are organised in partnership with the Laboratory of Clinical Cognitive Sciences (https://www.laboratorstiintecognitiveclinice.ro/en/). \nThe week opens with an online event presenting the Radiography’s key findings — a data-driven portrait of how Romania is really doing. On Tuesday\, an in-person roundtable in Bucharest brings together policymakers\, practitioners\, and civil society to translate that evidence into policy action. Wednesday’s online event turns to the digital world\, exploring how digital transformation is reshaping mental health across Europe. Thursday brings young people together in Cluj-Napoca for a hands-on workshop on emotional regulation and mental self-care. The week closes on Friday with a panel of researchers\, practitioners\, and people with lived experience\, reflecting on what the data means for real lives. All online events are free and open to the public. SUMMARY:Grounded Together: Embodied Awareness for Wellbeing and Responsible Decisions (Italian)
DESCRIPTION:How we show up for others depends\, first\, on how present we are within ourselves. This is the core proposition of Grounded Together\, two online sessions offered during the European Mental Health Week 2026 by a methodologist and a speech-language therapists Phd in pedagogy\, both specialists in embodied learning and applied somatic awareness. \nAcross two 90-minute sessions\, teachers\, educators\, health professionals\, parents\, and members of the general public are invited to explore a simple but consequential insight: that the quality of our attention\, our decisions\, and our care for others is shaped by our bodily state by whether our nervous system is regulated or reactive\, open or contracted. \nSession one focuses on everyday connection\, in families\, classrooms\, care settings\, and communities\, and offers accessible\, experience-based practices to support genuine presence and responsive listening. Session two addresses decision-making under pressure: how to stay grounded when we must make choices that affect the wellbeing of children\, young people\, or vulnerable groups\, including in contexts where digital tools increasingly assist or substitute human judgment. \nBoth sessions use a secular\, scientifically grounded\, and participatory approach. No prior experience is required. Language is inclusive and free from clinical framing. \n  \nhttps://www.instagram.com/mariafabiani.eu/ \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/mariafabiani/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100014890231634

SUMMARY:Between Convictions and Psychiatric Labels: Beliefs\, Polarisation and Mental Health in a Changing Europe
DESCRIPTION:When people argue that rising immigration is part of a deliberate plan by political elites to reshape society and replace existing populations\, it can be difficult to make sense of this belief. Those who hold this view may feel they are simply seeing patterns that others miss\, and their certainty can grow stronger when they find others who confirm it.\nSo\, what kind of belief are we dealing with? Is it an extreme political belief\, shaped by the social world around us? Or does it share features with the kind of thinking that clinicians sometimes encounter\, beliefs so fixed and distressing that\, in the context of serious mental health difficulties\, they might be understood as part of a clinical picture? \nStrongly held beliefs and clinical presentations can look surprisingly similar: resistant to change even in the face of evidence\, and bound up with fear\, identity\, or a need to make sense of a confusing world. What often makes the difference is that extreme beliefs are shared\, circulating in communities and public debate\, while more clinical forms of thinking tend to be idiosyncratic. \nAt a time of polarisation\, misinformation\, and rapid social change\, beliefs do not emerge in a vacuum. They are shaped by social identity and the wider climate\, which is why the line between shared convictions and clinical presentations can sometimes seem blurred. \nIn this 40-minute webinar\, Professor Richard Bentall and Dr Almudena Trucharte will explore these cases through an interview-style conversation\, linked to the IN-MIND project (Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action)\, opening a compassionate conversation about the grey area in between. \nRegistration is free and can be completed via the following link: \nhttps://crm.epha.org/civicrm/event/register?reset=1&id=180

SUMMARY:Breathing Through Change: Online Breathing Workshop for Mental Wellbeing
DESCRIPTION:Breathing Through Change: Online Breathing Workshop for Mental Wellbeing is a live free online workshop exploring the connection between stress\, breath\, and mental wellbeing in the context of changing work life. \nAs many people across Europe navigate increasing digital demands\, uncertainty\, constant connectivity\, and pressure to perform\, stress can become a persistent background state that affects focus\, emotional regulation\, and overall wellbeing. This session offers an accessible\, evidence-informed introduction to how breathing patterns influence the nervous system\, and how simple breathing practices can support moments of overwhelm\, tension\, and mental fatigue during the workday. \nThe workshop will combine a short educational segment with guided practical exercises that participants can immediately apply in everyday life and work settings. Rather than presenting mental wellbeing as an individual responsibility alone\, the session also opens reflection on how workplace culture\, pace\, and social environments shape how people feel and function. \nThe goal is to offer a practical\, inclusive\, and low-barrier experience that helps participants better understand stress\, feel more connected to their bodies\, and leave with tools they can use in a sustainable way. \nThis event is open to the public and suitable for professionals\, teams\, and anyone interested in accessible approaches to mental wellbeing. \nTWO SESSIONS \n\n– 6th of May – 11:30 – 12:00\n– 8th of May – 11:30 – 12:00\n\n  \nRegister\nhttps://www.instagram.com/balance_breathing/ \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/balance-breathing

SUMMARY:Voices of youth mental health in Central & Eastern Europe: stronger together
DESCRIPTION:This regional online session brings together youth voices\, practitioners\, mental health advocates\, and organisations from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) to explore how social\, digital\, and structural changes are shaping youth mental health across the region. \nAs part of the broader “Voices of Youth Mental Health in CEE” campaign\, the session will showcase lived experiences\, emerging insights from youth-led storytelling\, and ongoing efforts to redesign mental health services to be more accessible\, community-based\, and person-centred. \nThe event will combine short inputs from youth contributors and regional experts with an interactive discussion across countries. Participants will engage in a cross-country learning exchange\, reflecting on shared challenges such as inequity\, service gaps\, and the pressures faced by young people\, while also showcasing innovative\, community-driven responses from across the region. \nBy centring youth voices\, particularly those with mental health conditions\, and collective experiences\, the session aims to move beyond individualised narratives of mental health and instead foreground the structural conditions shaping wellbeing in CEE.\nThe event is hosted by Let’s CEE\, a regional initiative working to develop youth-friendly\, walk-in mental health services across Central and Eastern Europe through participatory and community-based approaches. \nThe event is open to the public and is free\, and registration is required through Zoom here: https://gwu-edu.zoom.us/meeting/register/hdwI8ff8QZ-frnXCNI1t_g \nYou can visit the event’s Facebook page here: https://fb.me/e/8PYNV5UvQ \nParticipants can join at the starting point of the city walk or attend specific segments (picnic\, yoga\, EFI sessions). International students are encouraged to join the English-language session. \nLINKS \nhttps://lets-cee.com/

SUMMARY:artCEE: a regional call for creative submissions on the topic of ‘Resilience to Me’
DESCRIPTION:artCEE is a regional\, participatory call for action organised by Let’s CEE. We are inviting individuals across Central and Eastern Europe to submit creative works—including photography\, visual art\, and poetry—exploring personal and collective understandings of “Resilience to Me” or what resilience and mental health means to them. Open to all\, the call aims to amplify diverse voices and lived experiences of mental health across the region\, particularly among youth. \nLet’s CEE is a not-for-profit initiative standing up for youth mental health across Central and Eastern Europe. We implemented low-intensity mental health care for youth locally\, and come together as a regional community of practice. \nAs part of artCEE\, all submissions will be showcased online as part of European Mental Health Week\, creating a collective exhibition that reflects the plurality of resilience in changing social\, cultural\, and political contexts. \nThe project positions creative expression as both a reflective tool and a form of advocacy\, highlighting how individuals and communities navigate challenges\, inequality\, and transformation. It also provides a platform for underrepresented voices\, particularly young people\, to contribute to regional mental health narratives. \nWe will accept submissions until 5th May. At this point we will gather all submissions and create a virtual exhibition which will be launched during the Let’s CEE Webinar for European Mental Health Week. We will be hosting further\, in person exhibitions in CEE cities through May and the summer of 2026. \nParticipants can submit their work (photo\, artwork\, or poem) via email to lets.ceeproject@gmail.com. Please add: artCEE to the subject of the email. In the email add your name\, country\, title of the artwork\, the artwork itself\, and a short description of what resilience and mental health mean to you. \n  \nLINKS \nhttps://lets-cee.com/

SUMMARY:Dare to move
DESCRIPTION:This event features an immersive workshop using the gamified tool “Atrévete a Moverte” to explore the intersection of forced migration and mental well-being from a community-wide perspective. Moving beyond the classroom\, this session invites citizens from all walks of life to engage in a powerful role-playing experience that simulates the psychological and emotional challenges faced by refugees and migrants. \nParticipants will navigate the complex realities of displacement\, confronting the mental health impact of structural racism\, legal uncertainty\, and social isolation. The event directly aligns with the EMHW 2026 theme\, “Stronger Together\,” by highlighting that mental health is a collective asset nurtured through solidarity. Our goal is to transform public and social spaces into inclusive environments where everyone—regardless of their background—can find a sense of belonging and dignity. By fostering radical empathy through storytelling and play\, we aim to reduce the “uncertainty and fear” prevalent in a changing Europe\, demonstrating that a community’s resilience is measured by how it supports its most vulnerable members. We stand together to ensure that mental health support is a universal right\, not a privilege. \n  \nMundo Matonge\, Rue d’Edimbourg 26\, 1050 Ixelles Bruxelles\, Belgique \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/international-network-for-human-rights-europe-ridhe/?viewAsMember=true \nhttps://www.instagram.com/ridheurope/

SUMMARY:Children’s Mental Health Across All Their Environments
DESCRIPTION:The event aims to highlight the importance of children’s mental health by looking at the full ecosystem in which every child grows. Mental well‑being is shaped not only by individual factors but also by the quality of the environments surrounding the child: the family\, the school\, and the wider social context. The event will bring together stakeholders from different sectors to explore how coordinated action across these environments can better protect and promote children’s mental health. \nThis workshop aims to create a space for discussion among stakeholders from these different environments\, highlighting how families\, schools\, and communities can support children’s mental health and well‑being throughout their development: \n\nFamily environment — the emotional climate at home\, parental well‑being\, maternal mental health\, and the support systems available\, including training\, to families.\nSchool environment — the role of teachers\, school climate\, peer relationships\, and the importance of safe\, inclusive\, and nurturing learning spaces including home – school communication.\nSocial environment — the broader community\, non‑formal and informal learning spaces\, youth work\, and the social networks that influence children’s sense of belonging.\n\nThe event may conclude as first step for the development of shared messages or a joint statement on children’s mental health endorsed by the Alliance for Investing in Children and open to other stakeholders that works on mental health and well-being of children. \nThe event should be held in the European Parliament hosted by MEP András Tivadar KULJA but we are trying to invite other MEPs who can offer meaningful contributions to the topic\, each from their own perspective and according to one of the three enviroments \n  \nMore Info

SUMMARY:What Europe’s Mental Health Ecosystem Needs to Thrive in 2026
DESCRIPTION:Format: Webinar \nThis free online event presents the initial outcomes of the “What Europe’s Mental Health Ecosystem Needs to Thrive in 2026” initiative\, which combines participatory input from organisations across Europe with an interactive digital ecosystem visualisation. \nOrganisations contribute short\, structured inputs on their actions\, challenges\, and unmet needs. These are brought together within a shared interactive ecosystem (a landing page displaying a florarium with plants)\, where each organisation forms part of a living system shaped by different social\, economic\, and policy conditions. \nThe session will: \n\nintroduce the ecosystem as a way to make visible the diversity and interdependence of actors across Europe\nhighlight recurring barriers and unmet needs emerging from participating organisations\npresent initial directions for a short mental health ecosystem insight report\n\nBy combining visual representation with structured input from the field\, the initiative offers a grounded snapshot of how mental health systems operate in practice and where support is most needed. \nMore Information here: https://sense-maker-hub.com/ecosystem/ \nRegister\n  \nSocial Media Links \n\n– www.linkedin.com/in/natalia-maximets/\n\n

SUMMARY:Culture and Health Online Webinar Scaling up Arts on Prescription Models: From Evidence to Regional Implementation
DESCRIPTION:The webinar “Scaling up Arts on Prescription Models: From Evidence to Regional Implementation” will explore how culture-based interventions can be integrated into health systems across Europe\, with a specific focus on mental health and wellbeing. \nThe first part of the session will provide an overview of Arts on Prescription (AoP) models\, drawing on recent developments in countries such as Greece\, the Baltic Sea region and the United Kingdom. Contributions from research and institutional actors\, including inputs from WHO\, will present the current evidence base\, including findings from large-scale studies and emerging policy frameworks. This segment will set the context by outlining how AoP initiatives contribute to mental health promotion and how they can be scaled within different health system settings. \nThe second part of the webinar will focus on implementation at regional and local level. Through a guided discussion\, regional and local health authorities will reflect on how they are integrating Arts on Prescription into policy and practice. Key questions will address governance\, financing\, cross-sector collaboration\, and strategies to ensure long-term sustainability and territorial uptake. Concrete examples from different European regions will illustrate how policy actions are being developed and operationalised in practice. \nOverall\, the event aims to foster exchange between sectors\, support mutual learning\, and identify actionable pathways for embedding Arts on Prescription within health systems across Europe. \n  \nhttps://www.instagram.com/eu.regha/ \nhttps://it.linkedin.com/company/euregha \nhttps://www.facebook.com/EUREGHA/

SUMMARY:Improving the mental health of informal carers and professional carers through care partnerships: insights from the WELL CARE project.
DESCRIPTION:Caring for someone can be mentally draining and exhausting. Both informal carers -who provide unpaid care to a loved one outside a formal framework- and professional long-term care (LTC) workers face an increased risk of compromised mental health over time. \nThe WELL CARE project (2024–2027) aims to guide investment in carers’ mental health and wellbeing by identifying\, evaluating and promoting good practices across Europe. It also examines structural factors and develops policy recommendations. The project explores which practices and policies directly improve mental health\, as well as those that prevent or mitigate occupational and non-occupational risks. \nWELL CARE is grounded in the assumption that integrated care and care partnerships can help reduce these risks\, making it particularly relevant to the theme of Mental Health Week\, “Stronger Together”. \nWe will present key findings from a recently finalised report featuring 10 in-depth case studies across five European countries. These practices were selected through extensive mapping and stakeholder engagement\, including professionals\, users and informal carers. The report highlights their potential in terms of care partnerships\, sustainability and transferability. \nWe will also showcase two innovative examples: Community Circles in the Netherlands and E-Qalin in Slovenia\, illustrating community-based and quality assurance approaches.\nThe webinar will be facilitated by Prof. Elisabeth Hanson\, main investigator\, with the aim to engage informal carers\, LTC professionals and organisations active in the care sector in a meaningful exchange. \nRegister Now\n  \nLINKS \nhttps://wellcare-project.eu/

SUMMARY:Mental Health Literacy for Higher Education Teachers
DESCRIPTION:This session explores mental health literacy and how it can support both students and educators in higher education settings. It will focus on helping teaching staff recognise early signs of distress\, understand key factors affecting mental health\, and respond with empathy and appropriate support. \nRather than turning educators into mental health professionals\, the session aims to provide practical\, first-line skills — including creating safe and inclusive learning environments\, communicating effectively\, and knowing when and how to refer students to specialised services. \nThe session will also highlight the importance of supporting educators’ own mental well-being\, promoting healthier and more supportive academic environments for all. \n  \nhttps://www.ipiaget.org/ \nhttps://www.instagram.com/ipiaget/

SUMMARY:Stronger Together\, Safer on Stage - Mental Health in Dance
DESCRIPTION:Dance is a cultural good that moves people across all borders. We watch the result of years of training\, discipline & sacrifice as magical fairytales on stage — but rarely ask what that cost looks like behind the curtain. Growing numbers of documented cases of emotional\, sexual & physical abuse in elite dance environments suggest a consistent pattern that may be more deep-seated than we realise. Our multi-awarded documentary “Unbound” brings personal stories from within the ballet world: Survivors of industry abuse start their own company\, the Ballet de Barcelona. Chase Johnsey\, the first non-binary person to dance a female role with the English National Ballet\, took on the role of company director. Without experience\, reputation\, or funding\, Chase created an internationally recognized platform for traumatized dancers and their talent. \nThe movie provides a ground-breaking example of how safe dance environments are created where mental health is protected & nourished. Beyond raising collective consciousness\, we want to create the conditions for agency and practical pathways that provide actual help to dancers and strengthen the community from within. \nOur film will be available on Vimeo during the EMHW 2026\, free & accessible regardless of socio-economic background. At the heart of the week\, we host a live online screening followed by a talk with Maria Agius Muscat\, a dance artist\, educator facilitator. She is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and the Marketing and Communication Officer for Ballet de Barcelona. \n  \nhttps://www.otoxoproductions.com/ \nSocial Media\nProduction company: otoxo_productions\nUnbound documentary: unbound_ballerinas_documentary\nBallet de Barcelona: balletdebarcelonaoficial

SUMMARY:Stronger Together Breaking stigma. Building communities of care
DESCRIPTION:Stronger Together: Breaking Stigma\, Building Communities of Care An Online Mental Health Awareness Event | European Mental Health Week 2026 \nThere is an Igbo adage ‘Onye aghala nwanne ya’; that means: Be your brother’s keeper. It is a call to collective responsibility\, and it is the spirit behind this event. \nMental health remains one of the most unspoken struggles in African diaspora communities. Stigma\, misconceptions\, and a culture of “hustling alone” mean that too many people are carrying invisible weight in silence. This has to change\, and change begins with these kinds of conversations with each other. \nOrganised as part of European Mental Health Week\, this online event brings together three diaspora organizations and more\, to create a culturally safe\, inclusive space where mental health can be spoken about openly\, honestly\, and without shame. Together\, we will explore how cultural\, social\, and environmental factors shape our mental wellbeing\, and how\, as a community\, we can move from isolation to solidarity. \nThrough facilitated discussions and shared insights\, participants will examine what community care truly looks like in practice: the power of support\, approaches to mental wellness\, and how we collectively dismantle the lonely hustle culture that leaves too many of us walking alone. \nThis is not just an awareness event. It is an invitation to build something\, communities where no one\, regardless of their struggle\, is ever left behind. \nTO JOIN ON ZOOM: Meeting ID 223 973 5671 \n  \nLINKS  \nhttps://www.otuumunwanyi.com/ \nhttps://behindmarygiftwallsfoundation.org/ \nhttps://igbounionantwerpen.com/
