SUMMARY:The Power of Multidisciplinary Collaboration in Mental Health Services: lessons learned from the European Programme for Mental Health Exchange
DESCRIPTION:Mental health does not exist in isolation – it is shaped by social conditions such as poverty\, inequality\, employment\, and education. The EU-PROMENS Project\, funded by the EU4Health programme\, is an initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of health professionals across Europe in the field of mental health to deal with those challenges through promotion of multidisciplinary approach. The project focuses on multidisciplinary training and knowledge exchange\, ensuring that professionals – from healthcare providers to educators and social workers – are equipped with the skills needed to address mental health challenges in diverse community settings. By implementing an exchange programme involving 27 EU Member States\, Norway\, and Iceland\, EU-PROMENS fosters collaboration between sectors\, reinforcing the importance of mental health in all policies. \nThis webinar will explore how multidisciplinary collaboration can address societal systemic challenges\, ensuring that mental health services are inclusive\, equitable\, and responsive to the broader social determinants of well-being. Experts\, project partners and participants will share insights from the ongoing Exchange in 6 hubs (Austria\, Croatia\, Czech Republic\, Finland\, Netherlands and Spain)\, showcasing strategies that foster cross-sector cooperation among healthcare providers\, educators\, policymakers\, and social service organizations. The exchanges will continue over the next year and dates will be announced in the webinar and on EU-PROMENS newsletters. \nAs part of European Mental Health Week\, this discussion reinforces the call to invest in social rights and build a stronger\, more resilient European society and networks where mental health is protected and promoted through fair policies and inclusive support systems. By integrating mental health into broader social policies\, and implementing multidisciplinary approach\, we can shift the narrative from an individual-focused approach to one that tackles the root causes of poor mental health.

SUMMARY:Unleashing the Power of Multidisciplinary Collaboration for Better Mental Health: lessons learned from exploring and implementing cross-sectoral mental health competency framework
\nExperts will present the development and implementation of a cross-sectoral mental health competency framework designed to strengthen collaboration between healthcare\, social services\, education\, and justice sectors; ensure professionals are equipped with the necessary skills to address mental health holistically; improve accessibility and quality of care through interdisciplinary training and knowledge exchange. \nMental health services often operate in silos\, leading to gaps in care and missed opportunities for intervention. This webinar explores how breaking down these barriers through competency-based approaches can promote mental health equity by integrating care across multiple domains; empower practitioners with shared best practices and resources; shape policy recommendations that embed mental health into broader social rights frameworks. \nBy leveraging insights from EU-PROMENS Project\, this event will serve as one more input to the structural reforms\, demonstrating how competency frameworks can be instrumental in improving mental health systems across Europe.
