SUMMARY:Take Care at Circus Connect: mental health in circus arts
DESCRIPTION:A two-day gathering on 7–8 May will bring together the Circus Connect partners to exchange\, collaborate\, and collectively imagine the future of the sector. \nCircus Connect is a collaboration between 3 European and international circus networks: the European Youth Circus Organisation (EYCO)\, Caravan Circus Network\, and FEDEC – International network for professional circus education. Supported by Erasmus+\, this partnership aims to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between youth circus\, social circus\, and professional circus education across Europe.\n \n\n\nDuring the event\, FEDEC will present Take Care (2024–2027)\, the first EU project dedicated to mental health and well-being in the circus arts sector\, co-funded by Creative Europe.\n \n\nThe programme includes:\n\n\n– A presentation by Rogier van Rijn (Codarts\, NLD) of the results of the Take Care survey on student mental health\, led in 17 professional circus schools in collaboration with the Research Department of Codarts to better understanding students’ experiences and needs in order to strengthen support systems for well-being in circus education.\n– A screening of the film “my own box”\, by Filip Jacobson (DEU) to raise awareness on mental health issues in circus professional practice\, followed by a discussion with artist Alice Rende (Compagnie AR\, FRA)\, Carlos Vianna\, Director of the École de Cirque de Châtellerault (FRA)\, and Isabel Joly\, Director of FEDEC (BEL)\, who will be moderating.\n\n\n\nThis event will be a space for sharing experiences\, opening conversations\, and strengthening care practices across the circus community.\n\n  \nSocial Media Links \n\nhttps://www.instagram.com/fedec_network/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/FEDECpro
