Mental Health Europe General Assembly 2026 – Madrid
On Friday 12th and Saturday 13th, Mental Health Europe held it’s General Assembly in Madrid, hosted by our member Red ISEM. Below a message from our Director, Kadri Soova;
Thank you to all our wonderful members who joined us in Madrid for our General Assembly events! 🇪🇸
This would not have been possible without the hard work and hospitality of colleagues at Red ISEM.

Before the General Assembly officially began, we had the opportunity to meet with the Spanish Mental Health Commissioner Belén González Callado, Together with our Spanish members, we shared the priorities of our network and learned more about the Commissioner’s ambitious work to advance mental health in Spain. Later that day, our Board meeting was generously hosted by Fundación ONCE and its General Director, José Luis Martínez Donoso.

Day 1, was dedicated to reflecting on the work we have achieved together in 2025, reviewing our financial sustainability, and looking ahead to the opportunities and priorities that will shape the coming year.

On Day 2, despite the Madrid heat, the energy only grew. Members brought fresh ideas, thoughtful questions and genuine enthusiasm to workshops on deinstitutionalisation in mental health, AI and digitalisation, and lived experience leadership.
The afternoon was dedicated to meetings of the MHE Human Rights Committee and our newly established Lived Experience Advisory Council. There is exciting work ahead, and we look forward to sharing more in the months to come.

The Board also elected new leadership following our previous President Andrej Vrzansky’s decision to take a step back. During the GA, we took the opportunity to thank Andrej for his years of dedicated leadership and service to Mental Health Europe. We are delighted to welcome Karilė Levickaitė as President and Dominique de Marne as Vice-President.
Most of all, it was wonderful to see so many members connecting, exchanging ideas, learning from one another and strengthening the relationships that make our network what it is.
Thank you all for being part of it.
