Culture and Health Online Webinar Scaling up Arts on Prescription Models: From Evidence to Regional Implementation

The webinar “Scaling up Arts on Prescription Models: From Evidence to Regional Implementation” will explore how culture-based interventions can be integrated into health systems across Europe, with a specific focus on mental health and wellbeing.

The first part of the session will provide an overview of Arts on Prescription (AoP) models, drawing on recent developments in countries such as Greece, the Baltic Sea region and the United Kingdom. Contributions from research and institutional actors, including inputs from WHO, will present the current evidence base, including findings from large-scale studies and emerging policy frameworks. This segment will set the context by outlining how AoP initiatives contribute to mental health promotion and how they can be scaled within different health system settings.

The second part of the webinar will focus on implementation at regional and local level. Through a guided discussion, regional and local health authorities will reflect on how they are integrating Arts on Prescription into policy and practice. Key questions will address governance, financing, cross-sector collaboration, and strategies to ensure long-term sustainability and territorial uptake. Concrete examples from different European regions will illustrate how policy actions are being developed and operationalised in practice.
