EVENT: European Mental Health Week – Stronger Together: What’s Next for Mental Health in Europe?
Stronger Together: A Path Towards a European Mental Health Strategy for All
As part of European Mental Health Week 2026, Mental Health Europe, in collaboration with the European Parliament Intergroup on Mental Health, is bringing together Members of the European Parliament, EU institutions, and civil society for a timely discussion on the future of mental health policy in Europe.
Nearly three years after the launch of the EU’s Comprehensive Approach to Mental Health, important progress has been made in placing mental health firmly on the European agenda. However, gaps remain — and with no new initiatives currently foreseen, there is a risk that momentum could stall.
This event will provide a space to reflect on what has been achieved so far and explore what is needed next. Discussions will focus on the importance of a coordinated, rights-based EU Mental Health Strategy that prioritises prevention, tackles inequalities, and ensures access to quality, community-based care across the life course.
At a time of increasing social and political challenges, no Member State can face mental health alone. This conversation will look ahead at how Europe can continue to act — and deliver — Stronger Together.
📅 Date: 5 May 2026 – 15:00 to 17:00 (CEST)
📍 Location: European Parliament: Spinelli 3E1
