Join our Youth Leadership Programme!
Mental Health Europe is excited to launch its new Youth Leadership Programme for young people (18– 25 years old) based in Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure that the voices of young people are at the heart of the mental health movement, through storytelling. We hope you will join us!
Mental Health Europe (MHE) is the main independent European non-governmental network organization committed to the protection of the rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities, the promotion of positive mental health, the prevention of mental distress, and the improvement of mental health care and social inclusion.
Project Information
Young people’s active participation in policy development, social political processes and structures is essential to achieving a more just and equitable society where everyone’s mental health can thrive.
Supported by the Rare Impact Fund
This project is part of Selena Gomez’ Rare Impact Fund grant to help raise awareness and end mental health stigma. Through this project, a Mental Health Europe community of Youth Leaders for mental health in Europe will be established.
Our goal
Through this project, we aim to strengthen the voice of young people in Mental Health Europe’s work and beyond. We want to mobilise a movement of young leaders who will be drivers of cultural and social change to transform the narrative around mental health, breaking stigma and advocating for concrete support for young people’s mental health in educational and care settings and beyond.
2024 Programme focus
2024 will be dedicated to building the capacity of young leaders for immediate action, and in preparation for planned initiatives in 2025 and 2026.
Who we are looking for:
The Leaders will comprise young people aged 18-25 based in Europe. They will either be:
- experts by experience, having faced or currently experiencing mental health issues; or
- passionate activists dedicated to driving change in their communities.
Mental health Europe is committed to improving equity and increasing opportunities for people who are underrepresented in the movement. Therefore, while we encourage all individuals that fit the criteria to apply, we will prioritise candidates facing increased marginalisation.
Deadline:
If you are a young person interested in joining or would like to nominate someone, please fill in this form by the 30th of April 2024.
If you have any questions, please contact the Mental Health Europe Secretariat:
