Stronger Together: Youth Participation and Co-Creation in Digital Mental Health Research

May 7 @ 10 h 00 min - 11 h 00 min

This webinar will explore the importance of meaningful youth participation in digital mental health research in a changing Europe. In line with the European Mental Health Week 2026 theme, “Stronger Together: Prioritise Mental Health in a Changing Europe,” the session will highlight how inclusive and participatory approaches can strengthen research, policy, and practice.

The webinar will begin with a short introduction to the YouthDMH COST Action, followed by a presentation of YouthDMH Working Group 1’s work on youth participation, including an overview of participation gaps and the importance of youth involvement in digital mental health research. The session will then open to discussion and audience Q&A, creating space for exchange on how to ensure young people are meaningfully involved in shaping digital mental health research and policy.

Designed for a broad audience, the webinar will keep the discussion accessible and high-level while offering practical examples and emerging insights from ongoing collaborative work. The overall aim is to show the importance of youth participation in digital mental health research to support more relevant, rights-based, and responsive approaches to youth mental health. The session will be delivered by Andreas Balaskas, Charlotte Blease, and Maria Tibbs on behalf of the YouthDMH COST Action.
